Helen(my Mumsy) has been so busy making a beautiful published bound scrapbook of her new little grand daughter Amber Rose. Click the images to view the book up closer. Each page is delightful with a pink theme going throughout the pages.
Some of my nieces photos in the book were taken using a low quality digi cam because my sister had only just started using a digital camera for the first time and had the camera set to web save and didn't know you needed a better quality for printed photos, she's learnt alot more now but unfortunately the first photos of Amber are low in quality. But I still think the book has turned out beautifully as a keepsake. This book was published with Artscow.

Made Using blushbutter Baby Girls Quickpage Albums in shoppe

Supporting layout pages made using Baby girls and Easter kit

I had time this morning to make a cover for the September Victorian Heritage Quickpage exchange, I've made it in one png sheet so that it can be cut up to suit most book publishing companies that you might like to use.
For Artscow I've found that uploading the full size is better for getting the bleed line to match correctly, their spine is larger than most publishers. Below is a small example of what I mean.
Just a reminder on how successful July's Quickpage exchange was, we got 68 quickpages from that event ,so you really won't want to miss out on this one, more information in previous post.

Announcing... The September Quick Page Exchange! This month we’ll be doing 8 x 8 Quick pages using Blushbutter’s gorgeous kit “VICTORIAN HERITAGE” ... You won’t want to miss this exchange (or this kit. It’s beautiful).
KIT on SALE:
I've marked down her “VICTORIAN HERITAGE” kit in her Shoppe here:
http://www.blushbutter.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=407
The coupon code to receive 20% off thru 9/21/08 is: join yahoo group for codes. And the coupon code to receive 10% off from 9/22/2008 thru 10/15/2008 is: join yahoo group for codes. (Please don’t share these codes with anyone outside of our Yahoo Group).
How it works:
Each participant will submit 1 quick page layout using the featured kit and receive the other submitted layouts in exchange. So, basically you submit one layout and get back an album! The more participants we have the larger the album will be.

I was so excited to get my playing cards this week! Aren't they just so beautiful, they really go well with the Faery Books! I'm putting ribbons and plastic pockets in the Faery book for photos, don't you think that is a great idea?!
I just love playing with these faery cards because I made King faeries to match. I made the hearts in pinks and peach, the clubs I made in greens, the diamonds in reds and the spades I made the faeries in blues and purples.
These books were my prototype and I didn't notice I'd not aligned the cover perfectly in the software until I received the book, if your familiar with printing then you'd know how these kind of errors happen all the time and making adjustments until the product is perfect is normal.
These next Photo books are my proof books! I had to acknowledge that it just wasn't going to be possible to get every single photo I've taken of my kids and family into scrapped layouts! I am a passionate digital scrapbooker and needed to concede that I just couldn't scrap every single digital photo I took. I decided I should just get my photos that number in the thousands printed anyway! Well after pricing exactly how much it would cost me($100's) to have them printed and to buy albums for the photos, I put it off even longer until I found that a printed and bound photobook could be a better and cheaper alternative to printing out the individual photos and putting them into an expensive archival album.
I use ARTSCOW
to make my photobooks and I can squeeze upto 192 good photos into one 8inch square 30page book. That works out 12cents a photo which is alot cheaper than buying a 200photo pocket album and getting 200 photos printed at the local printers! Not to mention it takes up way less shelving space and it's too easy to add in some text and dates.
I found artscow book service reliable and fast! The software is pretty straight forward and they make lot's of fun gift items to, I just had to get a watch for my Hubby, when I saw those, he loves it!
So if your considering having your digital photo's developed and they number in the thousands and you have lot's of folders to still get done consider a photobook idea. Don't just take my word for it about artscow, I have tried several book publishers, did you know Officeworks also do book publishing? There are alot of good quality photobook companies out there! I have more photos of my books and pages in my gallery.
Here are some comparison sizes in some different publishers, www,myreflections.com.au , www,mypictales.com , www.blurb.com and www.artscow.com
