This scrapbooking layout is of my Great Grandma Beatrice Rand who lived to be 93 years old, she is holding my Mum -Helen Norton(six weeks old). I loved her a great deal when I was growing up, she had the best laugh it was almost a cackle similar to Ma's from Ma and Pa Kettle. Just a quick layout today, as the holidays are very busy with all my kids home from school, yes it's a mad house here LOL
I used the blushbutter Victorian Dolls kit currently on sale the envelope and lace with the ribbon entwined came from the Helens Roses and Lace kit The antique lace pictured behind the heritage photo is not included in either kit

Merry Christmas readers
Here's my second oldest son Caleb, enjoying his present from us of a boomerang. He went to the park and tried and tried to get the boomerang to go out and then come back like the instructions had said that came with it, and thought it couldn't be done! So off went Dad to the park to see what was the problem. Of course Daddy got it to go out and around and caught it on the return path!! A pretty neat skill requiring a modicum of "no fear" as those things get up some pretty mean speed! His baseball training mayhave had some influence there. The boomerang was a huge hit with Caleb! It's extremely hard to buy presents for teens!! Of course the boomerang went up a tree, LOL!! But along comes Dad to the rescue again and up he went into the tree pulling up his weight and worried a little that the tree branch would break, but managed to get the boomerang, yippee!!
Below is a matching page of Christmas day with labels of Calebs attributes and personality. I'm so proud of him and all he throws his heart and soul into! He really is a wonderful kid! Yes I'm biased!! LOL

Grandparents Layout 1
This is a picture of Tinas grandparents taken before they were married.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people stay for awhile, and give us a deeper understanding of what is truly important in this life. They touch our souls. We gain strength from the footprints they have left on our hearts, and we will never ever be the same. ~Flavia

I have found that for alot of my friends that this is the hardest part of the year to go through , because they have lost someone or are losing someone dear to them. How can the world be so happy and cheerful when that person who made our life complete is nolonger here standing next to us or in our arms to hold. How can you touch an Angel and never let them go. I know doing this layout of my Nanny was soooo hard for me, I have avoided it until now. I cannot seem to express just how important this woman was in my life, all the words and pent up feelings have overwhelmed me and I'm lost for words to tell you that she was one of those people you meet who is so humble but has a strength of spirit that you felt to the core. I miss her...
the above layout was made for the yahoo friendship group of blushbutter's for the lovely woman who are losing loved ones this Christmas. On of the ladies provided this poem, I'm not sure of the origin, but it is beautiful and says it all.
Roses For --------------
If roses grow in Heaven
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Daughter's arm,
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek,
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
I used the blushbutter Victorian Dolls kit to make these layouts and the swirls come from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit.
Remembering those we love...

More digital scrapbooking Christmas layouts done, I'm so pleased with myself for being able to keep up a steady pace of scrapping my childrens photos. I've really included some unique journalling to. Things I don't want to forget when the memories grow dim with old age. Tina Williams from www.tinawilliamsdesigns.com had been commissioned to make a Wedding Album in 4x6 size for her brother in law. This animation of the entire album takes some time to load but it's worth the wait. You can also click through to view the larger animation of her brother-in-laws Wedding album. Tina has made the album using blushbutters Fairytale Wedding Medieval kit, Beautiful Belles kit,Helens Roses and Lace Kit and also some digital element graphic images from the Good mens kit. Tina Williams is also a designer but was pressed for time to get this album made by last weekend so came here. Some of the pages feature Tina's wonderful design ability with her own elements and beautiful heartfelt wording and warmth showing in the Wedding album. Tina's working right now on an album for her longtime partner Mark and his family, so far it's just amazing. These pages are in 4x6 inch size and 300ppi resolution, the perfect brag book to carry in ones handbag. This Wedding album is 27 pages long. I'll have to get back to you on the photographer but I think it is Mark the older brother of the groom featured here.

I just have to say I had some fun making this page, and I had to use two titles I found on the web. I played with the photos alot in photoshop as I'm learning to draw focus into the face with the use of filters. A few of these elements I've not put up in my store yet, but most come from several of my kits let me see... The background paper which you can hardly see is from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit as are the swirls, charms& links. I used my seemless tile of clouds to make the word art from the Aviation pilots kit, the key tag, saw, hammer, little digitally made metal stud, wallet all come from my Good Men's kit. The little car was a freebie I made and gave away to my friendship group. The belt is an old one of my Hubby's as are the jeans pocket. I made the blush jeans stud and had fun putting my nick name on it. The jade green heart, teddybear and ball are from my Colour Baby kit. thank's for looking

Journalling reads: Christmas Photos for
Logan you were so excited to see Santa, and had to patiently wait your turn in the que. When you finally got up close you balled and fussed and it took quite some convincing to get you to stop. In an effort I yelled out “Lollies†and here you are saying “Lollies?†and the lady quickly snapped this photo.
You can see how my boys have changed and grown here in these two photos. I love the comparison. I blurred the background in photoshop a little on the photo of 2006 as I'm really having fun with that guassian blurr filter, the tutorial I took said it tends to take the focus off the distracting background and place it more on the main subjects. I think it does too. So this will be my new method for now. I used the Christmas Vintage scrapbooking kit and a few elements from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit. The top layout I was going for a wrapped Christmas present look, what do you think? My second layout, I wasn't 100% happy with but for some unknown reason have had more positive responses for it than from scrapbooking layouts I do that I love! thank's for looking and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

These are my three rascals, Rohan,Logan and Connal making messes when making mudpies just the other day. You should have seen the bath when they finally came inside aaarrrghh! Anyway these layouts were made using mostly the Boy! Oh Boy! digital scrapbooking kit with a few elements added from the new Victorian Dolls kit(stitching, ricrac and fastener elements). The journalling on the first reads : Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts... anonymous
I liked that particular quote as it fitted with the silly faces they were pulling.

Deb Mommens from www.dapperdoxie.com has made five photo page scrapbooking lay outs for her album of her Grandma and her family. These scrapbooking album pages are very beautiful and true memory keepsake treasures especially the ones featuring her darling wonderful Grandma soon to become one of God's most needed angels in heaven. You can read more thoughts from Deb and her journey while making these pages in detail on her blog. I think making memorable pages like these are the reason why we all start and soon become addicted to digital and paper scrapbooking, we are all trying to create a legacy and books full of our memories , our magical moments, our spirits, our significance of how people have touched our lives with their presence and unique way of seeing life through their eyes...
Below are scrapbooking layouts made from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit by Deb Mommens, you can read this journalling on Deb's blog, well worth the read and visit.
Deb has a gift for journalling and finding just the right quote and special wording to match a page. This is Deb as an 11year old and her brother with a goat below...

You're the sun so hot and bright,

You're the sky so vast and blue,
And I'm the white clouds in your chest,
I'm a river clean and pure,
Who in your ocean finds her rest,
You're the mountain huge and high,
I'm the valley green and wide,
You're the body firm and strong,
And I'm a rib bone on your side,

Introducing the Newest team member ~ Tami ~ a designer from Decopages Designing under the name TLD-Just My Designs has joined the Creative Team of blushbutter and I am so very pleased to have her. The top 3 layouts are her heartfelt digital scrapbooking layout pages for her album. I was first introduced to Tami when she only just discovered me last week and asked if I did kit requests. She wanted a lovely tassle doll kit in the Victorian dresses in soft pastel colours and thought after seeing my work I might be able to achieve what it was she was after. Tami made it very easy to design this Victorian Dolls kit by providing photos of collections of treasured little things she had being saving for the decoration of her brand new office. As soon as I saw these photos I knew it would be relatively easy to make it as I had also been saving and working on graphics in a similar theme. I never need to have my arm twisted to make girlish kits. So I put my digital layout making on the back burner again and went to work on making tassle dolls and Victorian papers I thought would look good in the digital scrapbooking kit. Tami prefers to make digital scrapbooking layouts rather than to design kits so inquired if I had room on my team for one more, so Welcome to the Creative Design Team Tami

Oh I had the best fun making this digital scrapbooking layout of my Mum when she was 3months old. I saw this photo in her album and just had to scrap it using my newest kit. Would you believe it, I bought the newest issue of Scrapbooking Memories lastnight when I went shopping and when I was looking for ideas to scraplift for a layout with I came across a "Dear Santa" page by Kim Archer from NSW on page 27. The page was made using almost the exact colours of my kit and it's so soft and pretty I really wish I could show you it! Anyway I just had to copy it as it was in my newest kit's colours, I've altered the original design of the page alot and added a few different things, theres no Santa theme on my page either. Does it look like the center part could lift to reveal further journalling? I hope it does that was what I was trying to achieve, theres a little ribbon tab stapled onto the top glued on frame to make it look like it can be lifted. I added that part onto the layout because I've wanted to give that ago for awhile now. I used a few photoshop actions by Atomic cupcake, like paper tear and inking.
I've almost got the kit uploaded in full, just 2 more zips to go now and you can purchase it from the store. It's called Victorian Dolls or Dollies, I still haven't made up my mind fully on the name. Love these colours reminds me of Laura Ashley dresses. Oh I have got to tell you as well in making the green paper with roses I used the talented artist's Jaguarwomans Luscious painted roses, I absolutely love , love, love her work!
Very hard trying to make a preview to show off the detail and also fit everything in this kit, but I'm happy with the end result. I did want to put alot more in but after starting the preview I soon realised that it just wasn't going to fit, maybe I'll have a set of element packs to go with it to.
I'll write up a description tomorrow and a little more blurb. It's late here now and I better get my beauty sleep

I also have been experimenting with making shiny satin embroidery stitching and am including some in the kit thank's for looking!

Deb Mommems from www.dapperdoxie.com has made four photo page scrapbooking layaouts for her album of her Hubby, Brother's Wedding, her late Uncle Orrison and her family. These scrapbooking album pages show a deep sense of the love and warmth which Deb feels for her family. Two advanced digital graphic program techniques which Deb display's here are altering an element to fit a page and to colourise papers to coincide with a theme for a memorable page. The first layout depicts her darling Hubby relaxing on their farm and here she has taken the digital scrapbooking display book element(in 12x12inch) and transformed it to suit her 8x11 inch pages. The second layout of her Brothers Wedding day shows that Deb has colourised a blue stone page to purple hues to co-ordinate with the colours of the Wedding setting off the jewelled elements on the frames. Creative designer Deb used the Draco Celtic medievil digital scrapbooking kit LINK HERE
You can read more about Deb's pages on her blog and learn all about her scrapbooking techniques, Deb has a few freebie wonderful kits from time to time, so be sure to look around her site

I've added a few things to the store, some digitally printable single paper sheets, digital frame elements, word art stickers and paper packs.
I do try and break the larger kits up alot but making the previews and then zipping and uploading the files take some time to do, so alot of the time I just upload the kit and move onto the next project. I would like to spend more time doing the admin side of running the store but honestly I prefer making digital scrapbooking layouts of my family or designing the a new kit or digital art piece. Yes I need a secretary too, I think we all do LOL ! Well I hope you like the latest additions to the shoppe

I've used several kits in the making of these two pages from the shoppe. These are of my Little "MONKA" Rohan getting into my can tins cupboard, I'm adding them to my DVD picture slideshow. The papers are from the Beautiful belles kit plus the beige one I made using the digital embroideries found in the kit.
My Cupboard MONKA
Logan started calling you "Monka", when he couldn’t pronounce Monster, so now we all call you our little "Monka"
I hope your enjoying the double layouts that I'm making, I know I'm having fun making them and just love viewing them together especially since I have to wait to get 20 layouts done so it's cheaper to print locally. So seeing them together now makes me temporarily happy. Nothing beats having them printed up and in my real album of course. I just came from Shutterfly's website and wow!! I really wish they had a franchise over here I would fill my shelves up in a flash with printed books of my layouts if I could. I expect you can drag a completed digital layout on the page just like a photo, I of course have been too busy to test it all out yet, but it's most definately on my to do list!

I managed to get another two digital scrapbooking layouts made this time for 2006. These are my boys preparing for Christmas by helping decorate the tree. I've added a few sewing elements from my newest kit Beautiful Belles and the buttons are from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit, the zigzag stitching is from the Baby girl kit and the straight stitching is from the Good Men's kit The papers and foil tinsel are from the Christmas Vintage and Modern kit
Journalling Reads: Some moments I just never want to pass and this would be one of them. You are both so excited and took no time at all to get the tree decorated. and the second layout is "Final touches" the font is Worn manuscript, which I just loved using thank-you for reading and viewing today
an extra little trick I like to do is add a little burning with the burn tool around the edges once the layers are merged.
300ppi Resolution digital graphics
20 beautiful textured papers some with embroidery on them and sanded and grunged edges, very shabby. In 300ppi jpeg files 12inches squared

15 beige worn paper tags, tabs and a stamp

I've been working/designing this for a couple of days now and I'm a little tired, so I'm off to bed and tommorrow I'll post more information in detail and upload it to the shoppe. I just couldn't wait to show you what I've been doing as I haven't scrapped any digital layouts for my DVD for a couple of days and I knew you'd be wondering if I was making anything or kicking back and relaxing

Baby boy matching digital album scrapbooking pages with interwoven satin ribbon work. I can tell you this one was a little work but well worth the effort for the effect. I really liked how these pages turned out. I had some fun with them as well. The shadow work took some effort but I've become alot better at selecting the area of shadow to cut and eliminate out of the underlapping ribbons.
I know that blues and yellows wouldn't be a first choice for photos that had a little boy dressed in red, but I decided I would try some experimenting with different mixing and matching of colours that I normally wouldn't put together. Like the black on the border of the photos, I have been trying different coloured borders on the edges of the photos to see if I come across a winner. I've decided I like to make them different all the time. Now looking at the pages finished I think the photos stand out and they are pleasing to the eye so for me they are a success and I'll add these into my DVD slideshow to, making the count 14 digital scrapbooking layouts that I have so far made with the Boy! Oh Boy! kit.
In the first layout I have written : You love to walk around the house with your hands behind your back as if you were a general! You do this creeping walk at the moment which is really cute! You are a very loving and cuddly boy! You give long cuddles and your quite happy to sit in my lap for an hour or more!Your trying to learn how to talk and at the moment you are talking your own made up language which is the cutest sounds. You pick a favourite teddy bear and you carry the teddybear around all day talking to him and feeding him your bottles and lunch.
And the second layout where my darling baby boy would lay in the hammock for hours listening to me sing his favourite nursery rhymes.
Not all these elements are from the Boy kit , some are from the Colour Baby kit(teddybear),the Blush kit(music note) and the Helen's Roses and lace Silver and Ruby alphas $2.00 for the R hanging in the chain.

I managed to take photos today and to scrap some of those photos, actually six of those 30 odd photos I took, I'm very happy with myself for being able to do that. I also managed to clean the toy room and mop all the floors woohoo!! Definetely on a roll today
Okay enough about me I'm extremely boring, about these layouts... I used the Boy! Oh Boy! kit but not only that I also added in some files from my Baby Girl kit colourised blue. I love to mix and match up my kits when I can remember what I have in each when I'm making a layout, sometimes I just go blank when trying to think of a style to do that will look nice. I went through my scrapbooking mags for some inspiration but they were all way too girly! so many flowers in all the layouts and that just wouldn't do for boys So went hunting down some little bits here and there in my kits to make these matching contrasting pages. I know I've said it before about how easy it is to flip the canvas to make another page , but it really does make scrapping fun knowing that I can get two pages done quickly instead of just one.

Here are more matching digital scrapbooking layouts I have made for my DVD slideshow and personal album for keepsakes. Lot's of tinsel and foil again and loving it!! These pages have a little of everything on them, "Joy to the World the Lord is Come!" are words from a favourite Christmas yultide of mine. The note tag says Happy Birthday to Jesus...
I'm hooked by the tinsel fairy
I think that I'm really eager to start decorating the house with tinsel and start wrapping presents to, because I'm really enjoying making Christmas digital scrapbooking pages with the foil and tinsel in my last kit. I bet you thought my last pages were bright and vibrant look at these!! Makes me think of wrapped Christmas presents. My kids love them so I guess I'm happy with that. I've included a second matching page, it's so easy to do that now how can I not make it up quickly especially if I have two photos I want to use but can't decide between them both. Christmas kit LINK HERE
These are my adorable babies last Christmas, Logan being a good loving big brother to Rohan. He still is sometimes even though they have started to fight now, their older brothers influence I suppose unless it's just a natural thing for boys and brothers to do when learning how to establish there own space and possessions, LOL

Quick 1 page digital scrapbooking layout of My boys in the Christmas spirit and Christmas Cheer
Made using blushbutters Christmas Vintage and Modern kits LINK HERE
I lowered the opacity of the satin ribbons to give me an organsa ribbon so I could still see Calebs Reindeer horns. I also put a stroke around the 3D clipart of the toys and Christmas babies to give the appearance of being cut out of an accessories scrapbooking paper set. As usual this page has vibrant Christmas colours of the brightest foil and tinsel gold and red photo board of foil paper background.
I've made a couple of Vintage matching contrasting layouts using the Christmas Vintage kit and have had fun scraplifting a layout by Ngaire Bartlam from "for Keeps creative scrapbooking" magazine featured on page 118(Aussie Mag). I've used the same technique of flipping the canvas in photoshop and altering the papers for a contrasting effect of the theme to continue on. This colour of my Christmas pages are bold and vibrant with nuetral biege and velvety green sanded and grunged papers to offset the rich satin ribbons stretching out from the photos. I've used the tin chipped paint buttons from the "Boy! Oh Boy!" kit to top the layout off, an original idea of mine. I've used the foiled gold guilded swirls to reach out from the quarter circle like twinkling flames. Added the vintage ephemera notecards and epoxy stickers to the photos. Completing the pages with some more golden swirl corner decorations. The photo is of my Mum when she was 7 with her younger brother Billy and earlier when she was four years old.(Journalling reads "Dear Santa, Can I please have a dollee oxox")
Zigzag stitching from my Babygirl kit in png files for ease of use, I definetly need to make circle stitches now so that will be an easy sew for layouts like this.
Christmas Vintage kit LINK HERE
Here it is all finished and uploaded to the shoppe, these are two kits ones modern and ones Vintage. Both have the papers and elements included for digital scrapbooking. The Vintage set has the illustrations set on notecards to hang from your pages and epoxy stickers to glue to your scrapbook layout pages as shown below in my digital scrapbooking layout.

What's Ephemera? I've only just found out what this term means. So I thought maybe I should pass on the description to you as well...
Websters dictionary states that ephemera is...
ephemera plural : paper items (as posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles
ephemera = the little vintage images
All those beautifully handpainted and illustrated postcards from the early 1920's etc... are all collectible now, and so they should be I've been studying the ones I have and they are so pretty, such fine details and a real softness comes across to the viewer. If your lucky to come across the Christmas ones they have enchanting family themes with toys and beautifully painted Santas with long feathery beards. As pictured in this digital scrapbooking layout of an epoxy sticker of an ephemera of Santa making toys. The words read as: Theres nothing Santa more enjoys than making toys for girls and boys. And in his way he's wondorous wise, For he knows just what'll please Your eyes.
I've been blog reading up on ephemera and it seems that the old scrapbooks are a wonderous source for the vintage images and postcards and it's even predicted that our scrapbooks will also be a source for collectibles for the generations to come. Which makes sence to me as we are scanning in and retouching up the worn and faded art to print out in perfect acid free paper and archival inks so no art gets lost and thrown out in the trash, I'm not sure about you but I'm a horder of beautifully handmade Christmas cards love them!
I'm finally getting into the Christmas spirit, notice the new header, graphics care of www.butterflywebgraphics.com
Okay explanation of the kit I've spent most of the day and night making. I've made tinsel foil for ribbons and foil paper, some of the paper is gold foiled with digital rubbon gilting(my term for lack of a better explanation). If you click on the image above you'll see the gilting of the gold, the foil ribbon and the photoboard is a sheet of silver foil with gold foil swirls decorating it. The little 3D characters were provided by Butterflywebgraphics as in the new Christmassy Headers in the shoppe and forum to. I'm really happy with the foil as it was created all digitally in photoshop and I had alot of fun making it.
thanks for looking
Even though I don't celebrate your holiday here I'm thinking of you!
Heres Connal again, my teenager boy in a matching and contrasting page to the one I finished earlier.
Using that technique I logged down earlier I have flipped the canvas to make a second matching page and swapped the background papers to give the pages a contrasting effect. Using the chipped paint tin buttons I then linked and dragged them over to continue the theme of the page. They don't exactly match up but it looks more realistic with them slightly uneven. I think that having details too perfected in symmetry can be a mistake when trying to create the realism paper scrapbooking effect. I've learn't this over time. I really liked the main photo of Connal pre- braces and wanted to use it but the background was a mess,so I have blended in a black to cover up the distraction, placing more focus on his face.

I wish I could take credit for this layout all the way but I got my Christmas edition of Scrapbook Creations Magazine and found on page 17 a paper scrapbooking layout done by Donna Wild"Molly's First M" I can't display the scrapbooking Layout because of copyright issues but I'll describe it as being similiar to this style I have done of my eldest son Connal. Donnas layout has little varied vintage silver buttons from K&Company and silver and white paper from Chatterbox and features her baby girl Molly and hearts cut out.
Basically that's what scraplifting is, you see a beautiful styled layout and think wow!! I can copy that and alter it to my own needs for my album, but one of the unwritten rules of curtesy is to give credit to the original scrapbook artist to whom you saw the layout. Like I have done above, Donna may very well have scraplifted someone elses layout from years before(not saying she did) , every different type and style of placing photos onto a page has been probably thought up and done 2000 times each. Some by just accident that you have no idea to whom belongs the credit for the setting of your layout, you could think you have just thought of a wonderful unique arrangement and the truth is you saw it in a magazine or a gallery a week prior but forgot. There aren't any hard and fast rules to scraplifting anothers work just common curtesy if you do see a layout and copy it give credit to the person you copied from
Now about this digital scrapbooking layout of my teenager the journalling reads:
This was a big year for you Connal, You became a Teen and you got braces, cost $5200! Your in year 8 and an above advanced student
I used grunged and sanded papers from the Boy! Oh Boy! kit, with the chipped paint tin buttons provided by atomic cupcakes actions for photoshop. I layered the same photo on top of each other transforming it by a few degrees each way, I wasn't happy with the shadowing so I added a faded layer with brushing in between the photos to give a more natural look of the photo raising in places. I used atomic's painted wood action and my custom brushes to make the letters of Connals name. I also added an extra photo in that wasn't in the scrapbooking layout of Donna's.
I used the stitching styles of Lara Paytons "whip stitching" for the vertical stitching. The tags were my idea too for the all important journalling I wanted to include with this photo memory page.

One tip I just had to share with you if you've not already heard about it, is to put your child in a window and have the natural light fall on your them before taking there photo and don't forget to turn off that flash on your digital camera. This technique can achieve stunning photos even for the cheaper cameras. Now if you can just get the toddler to co-operate then your a photographer in the making! It's the setting up a proffessional photographer does in the beginning that ensures a more successful photo shoot. Get the distraction toys out and don't be frightened to bribe. Also having a blank background is always best but not always practical for the Mum at home who quickly grabs the camera and wants to capture the face and cute expression of the child in a learning curve and moment worth treasuring. I am no expert by any means, I am just making do with my limited capacity and Kodak digital 5megapixel camera, drooling over and wanting a better Cannon SLR digital camera, but one day maybe when I'm a Grandma I'll get that, LOL. It beats the brownie my Mother had when I was small. I do love the photos I manage to get when I take the time to set up the right light, I should have scrubbed the background out of the photo in this digital scrapbooking layout using photoshop but am crunched for time to make a DVD slideshow for Christmas family presents.
They can be viewed up closer in the gallery and this kit of course is the newest Boy! Oh Boy! kit in store LINK HERE
the journalling reads on the ribbon :
Much too Cute!
the expressions you show I just want to kiss you all up!
side by side matching pages for the album
Creative team Designer April has made a few fun scrapbooking layouts from the new Boy! Oh Boy! kit LINK HERE .
The first two layouts feature her handsome boy Tobyn having fun. The last one is April herself with her brothers, great photos! I love coming across old photos to scrap
thank's for sharing April
This is the digital age and I don't know about you but I have several digital photos I take with my digital camera, "snap!", "snap!" "snap!" I think it's the normal thing to do nowadays. No more hassels with films left in the sun and over heating I love how easy it is to take good pictures now. Point click and it's done. I have a fair few really great photos and find it really hard to decide which one gets put into a layout I love the different expressions in all of them. Sure the layout with the one photo and beautifully decorated page looks outstanding but let's face it, that kind of scrapping isn't always practical in our albums that we want to show family. I love to try and atleast get two photos into a layout and make matching pages to have room to view all my favourite expressions on the photos. These layouts have torn and inked edges provided by a specific atomic cupcake action script that runs in both Adobe photoshop and elements. the words are :
These Moments with you Rohan,
I never want to lose!
You put your chubby little fingers tightly around my neck and just lay your head on my shoulder, it makes me feel like I just want time to stop and this magical moment never to pass. The love I have for you makes me feel
They can be viewed up closer in the gallery and this kit of course is the newest Boy! Oh Boy! kit in store LINK HERE
I colourised the green paper in the kit to make this lovely orange to match the t-shirt and colourised the ribbons as well.
I used the technique mentioned earlier by flipping the canvas under ROTATE CANVAS and then added more complimenting background papers and inked the edges of the papers and photos to make matching 2 page layouts. I think I achieved a not so boring album contribution and all without the use of flowers believe it or not LOL! I just love to sneak those little pretty's in whenever I can, much to my Hubby's annoyance, got to make the man happy The font is Notepad by the way
side by side
thank's for coming by and reading up on my blog
Here is the muddy boy I promised. With this layout I like to use a technique I accidently discovered and thought you may want to do it also. I like for my digital scrapbooking albums to have matching 2 page spreads in the album I think it looks more balanced when looking through a printed digital album, it doesn't matter so much on the DVD slide shows but makes a real difference in the hard bound albums.
What I do to quickly come up with a corresponding page it to go into my photoshop program and choose : IMAGE (under the menu)> scroll down to ROTATE CANVAS > then select FLIP CANVAS HORIZONTAL and repeat this step but choose >FLIP CANVAS VERTICAL
then I swapped the background papers to be a little more different, you may have to drag another background paper into your project if you have cut and altered your origainal piecs like me. I use the piece from the original document and make it selected and then inverse that selection , make sure the background paper I want to cut from is selected in the layers palette and cut that way I get a perfect copy of the shape of the original. Then I just flip all the objects/elements that are up the wrong way with EDIT>TRANSFORM>FLIP HORIZONTAL etc...
add in more photos to follow the story of the previous layout and add some texting effects ,time stamps and titles.
I got this texting effect from the wonderful Linda Sattgast from www.scrappersguide.com she has some wonderful free video Adobe photoshop and elements tutorials weekly and if you miss one you can still purchase it in the store for a $1.00, they are really easy to follow for the beginner and not very overwhelming at all.
This title I got from the www.peppermintcreative.com phraze guide, a wonderful resource when you want a phraze in a hurry, I like how she has categorised the titles. I also like to ink the edges of my photos with a brown and use the atomic cupcake action tornink to do this.
The kit I used to make this layout is called the blushbutter ~ Boy! Oh Boy! kit LINK HERE
thank's for looking
Here is my Rohan digging in the dirt and having a ball tommorrow I'll make the scrapbooking page where he ends up covered in mud! I used a couple of photoshop actions to make this layout called paper tear ink by atomic cupcake which I used around the photos. I didn't put alot of thought into this page I thought the photos worked fine on there own with not much more needing to be added. He has such amazing eyes love that cheeky smile I'm completely biased of course!
I also used my newest scrapbooking kit Boy! Oh Boy! LINK HERE
Belindas creative streak never ceases to surprise me with her arrangements of digital scrapbooking elements, embellishments and papers. Look at these vibrant Pirate and treasure chest paper backgrounds and see how she has added the photos into them with a real boldness and a great deal of originality creating an interesting story for the viewer, scrapbooking layouts can be a real pleasure to view when they tell a story. I think it pays to have an original flair with scrapbooking and develope your own unique way of doing things with your photos. Creative designer Belinda used the Savvey Pirates kit in store and on sale for $10.00 LINK HERE
You can view these images of the Savvey pirates up closer in the gallery LINK HERE
My scrapbooking style is changing and developing as my children grow and change. Which is a good thing as then how do I get bored I have yet to give the altered art a try, I may save that for my forties
Matrimonial Wedding photography arraigned into remarkable treasured keepsakes for a photo album with a scrapbook flair. Don't these digital scrapbooking layouts look beautiful!? I think so, very enchanting and digitally artistic, just goes to show you the limits of the digital age and that you can achieve some wonderful digital effects on your home computer and graphics programs. These scrapbooking layouts were provided by Creative Designer Belinda Brown(Bellvic) from Australia and this romantic couple featured are her son and daughter inlaw Amanda and Benjamin.
Belinda made these layouts using the blushbutter Fairytale Medieval Wedding kit on sale for $15.00 LINK HERE
thank-you for looking and these images can be viewed up closer in the gallery LINK HERE
Belinda told me she thoroughly enjoyed making scrapbooking layouts with this kit, I love it when my designs and kits are appreciated and enjoyed.
This is an image of a boy(my son Logan) in a toy plastic peddle car in a digital photo scrapbooking layout. I'm quite happy that I have achieved a couple scrapbooking layouts of my favourite subjects in the whole wide world today! I just have to say that this is the easiest kit to make layouts with, I guess it has something to do with the fact I have all boys LOL! Journalling reads: Logan
When you were 2years old ...
...you loved your big blue car!
You would love to say
and plant a huge kiss on me!
This layout has stained glass frames with tin little stars and cars, blue satin ribbon corners, a clipart tag of little boys playing, a chain with charms hanging my sons name on enamelled and tin pendants.
This scrapbook layout is a digital computer generated file in jpeg format made using the blushbutter digital scrapbooking kit called Boy! Oh Boy! LINK HERE
The paper is heavily digitally sanded and textured with a grunge of blue chalking and brown to resemble pastel chalks. I really didn't like covering up the paper but loved the out come when I did. I don't follow templates or scrap maps even though I think they are wonderful for the regular person wanting to scrap alot of layouts in a hurry, I find they limit my creativity so just work with the kit and see what happens, sometimes it get's trashed often I like the outcome. It reminds me of the old saying that "an artist is never truly happy with their work or think that an art peice they do is finished either".
Well now after going over this layout in retrospect I am unhappy with it LOL because I forgot something that is important to me on it ... any guesses?! a time stamp!! yes those little dates are my memory keepers so I can keep track of achievements and such. When I was making this layout photos from 8th of April 2005 I was beginning to find it difficult to remember the really important things I wanted to hold onto in my heart and mind ~ like words and little achievements. I'm going to have to keep a steady progress of scrapbooking layouts up if I want to make sure I get all those important things down and scrapped in my treasured photo album!
That's my Cheeky Monkey! Using my graphic software program adobe photoshop I can arrange elements and graphics found in downloadable kits in the store to put with my photo collages and arrangements to tell a story which I'll look back on in years to come with joy! Not everyone can afford the expensive graphic designer program but please don't let that discourage you , Adobe has a powerful smaller version of the photoshop program called "Adobe Elements". I believe they developed this program specifically for the home digital scrappers and the huge market and business they would get from the developement. I use the program and the built in tutorials are very easy and it's pretty much capable of most of what photoshop can do but at an affordable price.
The above scrapbooking layout often referred to as a "digital scrapbooking layout" because it was made entirely with digital files, scanned in images, digital cameras, layers, digital paints and actions within a software program came from my newest creation the :
Boy! Oh Boy! kit is on sale for only $8.00 Link HERE

Boy Oh Boy!
Heres my newest kit for boys! okay okay I know this is huge!!! but I wanted to make something that would do my four boys for a while to come as I get so carried away with all the girlie stuff I love to do, so I went all out with this kit! I made wordarts, characters, alphas, letters, 268 of them in a few different combinations so I could just grab the charm or sticker I want and slap it on the page instead of messing around for hours with it. Oh of course special thank's to atomic cupcake for her wonderful actions used extensively in this kit! with word arts in enamelled and silver styled embellishments and charms for hanging off a silver chain.
I've added stained glass frames with cars and stars in silver, also enamelled frames, paperclips, fibres, ribbon corners, decorated clipart tags of boys and their toys, swirls, stars, chains for photo collages and memory keepsakes for all your boys!

Yay!!! I got another layout done for my album!! I didn't get anything much else done for the kit though, oh well. I guess the more I make with these layouts the more fancy embellishments and elements will be included in the kit, that's got to be a good thing. Oh special thank's to atomicupcake for her Adobe photoshop actions in the inking edges and chipped paint on the rings and swirls.
My boys were messing around with silly faces here and I had to capture the moment of course. thank's for looking
This is the newest kit I'm working on right now, it's for boys particularily because I have been sadly neglecting the scrapbooking of my children recently and instead concentrating on designing kits and papers. Well I have been sorely hankering to get back into the photo journalling of my children and went looking for suitable kits of mine in my repotoire only to realise that there really wasn't very much available. So back to designing kit's I went and briefly stopped to make 2 layouts of my little darlings ~ Logan and Rohan. The fonts are Minion, Scriptina and Adobe Garamond. These papers are really roughed up with sanding texture and grunged edges, I love how they have turned out and need to make up my mind which ones to keep in the kit as there are 31 so far! I know what was I thinking, well I wanted enough papers to make a really varied album for my kids. So now I'm making more elements and things I'm going to need- like alphas, brads, paper clips, tags and ribbons. Oh that reminds me, April sent me a paperbag scrapbooking album and it had these ribbon photo corners in it and I scraplifted that idea off her for my photo corners in the first layout of Rohan. I made that ribbon from one of the papers in the scrapbooking kit.
Featuring Mahaley in these digital scrapbooking layouts April has made some absolutely inspirational layouts of her little girl dreaming of fairytales while sleeping. I love how sweet and precious Mahaley looks in the photos, these pages look like they belong to a fairytale book. Thank-you April for being so wonderfully artistic and creative, love all your work
April used the blushbutter Fairytale Medieval Wedding kit on sale for $15.00
Creative team member April Day has made some Savvey pirate layouts for her 2005 Halloween party. Aprils parties for Halloween are organsied months in advanced and are a whole lot of fun judging by the wonderful fun photos. April used the blushbutter Savvey Pirates kit on sale for $10.00
I just love how creative these layouts are! Like this kit was made especially for that party, lovely April
This is our little place we like to think of as our Heaven on Earth, there are bellbirds that sing and lyerbirds too, there are two waterfalls to walk on the trail to one a free fall which My Husband put his head in and a stepping falls one. The water is icy cold and comes off the snow peaks of Mount Bulla. The area is so peaceful and tranquil like being in a fairytale magical little piece of Heaven. I've grown up in the Australian bush/scrub and now live in the mundane suburbs so every now and then I like to venture back into the peace and quiet found at Noojee. These photo history layout pages were made using the Draco Celtic Medieval digital scrapbooking kit for sale in the store at $20.00
This is my talented boy Caleb with his story. His the most marvellous creative storyteller and drawer! Here I have used the Draco Celtic Medieval digital scrapbooking kit on sale for $20.00
In these two layouts I have used a different method of subduing the background to show and enphasize the photo more. You may prefer the first, I'm just trying to demonstrate the different choices you have when using vibrant dark backgrounds and losing the photo and elements because of it. I use adjustments >hue and saturation and play with the levels to achieve a lightened background in photoshop also available in Adobe elements as well. special thanks to atomiccupcake for the simple paper tear action for the knight and sheild. The knight and sheild doesn't come with that action in the kit I just am experimenting with the paper look of how it would appear if it were cut out from a sheet of paper. thank's for looking
This is my eldest boy Connal when he was six years old, his now 13years old. You wouldn't know it now but he was the shyest boy and would constantly hide behind my legs when people, particularlily adults were close. So I put him into a performance arts school and he excelled at the play acting. This is him as Captain Feather sword and he was the lead character in the play and had to go and tickle all the audience members in the front row which he did so beautifully I was so very proud of him.
these layouts were made using my Savvey Pirates kit on sale now for $10.00 link to kit here: shoppe
Creative Team designer April Daze has made some really wonderful Medieval Rennaissance Fair digital scrapbooking layouts using the Draco Celtic Medieval kit on sale for $20.00
Don't you just love these pages and the photos are really full of intrigue and entertainment. The Rennaissance Fair looks like the place to be!! I think that Troll looks the greatest with his little hammer,he reminds me of the dwarf in the Lord of the Rings, LOL! what was his name Gimmley I think?
Introducing my newest digital scrapbooking kit "Savvey Pirates"!
Link to kit : here This kit has a few designed and decorated easypages in jpeg format suitable for printing and digital scrapbooking. I just know that you will enjoy the rich vibrant textures of this kit. A great deal of thanks goes to www.jaguarwoman.com for the purple and red ribbon work, and to Anita Lea Creations for her pirates ,bone and skulls. I have altered and post worked the original purchased files in photoshop to include them here. I purchase memberships, graphics and graphic programs in order to make a themed kit with all the extra little bits just to save you the time in hunting them down and spending hours altering them yourself for the purpose of making scrapbookable memories.
With this kit when I was making these highly designed papers they reminded me of all the romance paperback covers I read as a teenager. I'm really very happy with how they have turned out with the richness of the wooden Captians cabin and red velvet lounge. These papers will be available in paper print also, very soon!
Creative Team Designer Deborah Mommens from www.dapperdoxie.com has made some enchanting Fairytale Wedding layouts using the blushbutter Fairytale Wedding kit

These next four have been made using the Pilot Aviation kit
Heres my latest kit "Draco" Celtic Fantacy
This kit has everything to make your own enchanting fantacy fairytale storybook album for your little knights in the making and fairy princesses as well.
I've included my artwork Draco papers in this kit especially for the digital scrapbookers. I wasn't considering that digi scrappers would also love to use these papers in their albums. I was just going to keep them for print out only sales but have considered how biased that is and so my change of heart in this matter.
So no commercial use, no tubing no web sharing etc...

This is another digital layout I managed to get done today as well as alot of doodling on my tablet which I spent most of the day doing.
This is my Mum~ Helen Rand when she was six years old, I came across the picture in her scrapbook and just had to use it with my newly designed papers for paper scrapbooking. I know this is digitally done in photoshop but I really would love to get the time and space to actually paper scrap this photo as well.

This is my Great Grandma Bridget Norton on my Fathers side~
I have been so busy with my new printing paper venture that I hadn't managed to get anything scrapped lately, I have all the boys birthday's to scrap yet, plus all my ancestry photos as well. So here are a couple quick layouts the first above uses elements from my Helens Roses and Lace kit, with a couple elements and background paper from the Mauve Refined Ladies kit On sale for the awesome low price of $10.00. I like to mix and match all my kit's up a bit, when I do my layouts I just like to "wing it", I only ever tried to use a template once and found it just way to constraining for me, but I love seeing how everyone else uses them.
The above layout is of My Greatest Grandma Nelly Gogdale from my Mothers side who came out from Ireland to wed an early settler in Australia. This quickpage was provided by Cathy Aliesia from the Mauve Refined Ladies kit then altered and customised by me.

Don't forget to check out our sales only 2days left now on the best digital scrapbooking kits I have designed!
Heres a few photos to show you my printed up papers came in the mail, aren't the colours so vibrant and richly textured?! I had to wait patiently till my 1year old went down for his nap to get all my papers out of the box and display them on my table, I didn't have long to really stop and look at them, but gee it felt good to see my designs in print and viewable off a computer screen. I have only had the chance to take the prints to a few local shops and Gaby from Narre Warren, Victoria, Australiascrapperswarehouse shop will also be stocking a few of the papers for sale so check out her store online for the bargains and really attractive shipping and handling costs. I was perusing Gaby's gallery before and I love how beautiful some of the paper scrapbooking layouts are in there, very inspiring. Having my designed scrapbooking background papers printed up on archival quality standard inks and paper is not a cheap venture for the average self funded artist and designer I can tell you! So please factor that in when looking at the price per sheet of $4.50 USD not including shipping and handling. I truly feel that you are getting a very beautiful quality rich in colour artwork paper print, not just a printed background paper. These papers have taken me a great deal of time to get just right. They are for the specialty scrapbooking projects such as Fairytale albums, framed wall hangings, Medieval Fairytale Weddings. Your little girls would love these papers at Fairy and craft parties. Sometimes spending that little bit extra on a good quality uniquely designed paper is well worth the effort when you have a page that makes you really happy and content with the outcome.
I would warmly like to thank all the new visitors for coming to my blog in celebration of the scraphabit.com blog party going on, I am overwhelmed by the beautiful well wishes and heart felt comments and praise. I'm beeming today from all the extra attention and thank-you profusely for the love! hug's to you all and happy blog party to you!
Kori tagged me to write my seven favourite songs I'm listening to at the moment so here goes:
1) Learning to fly by Pink Floyd( hubby goes to sleep listening to the melodic cd, and I love that one the best)
2) With Arms Wide Open by Creed (I love to listen to this one in my car also my Wedding waltz song).
3)I love Madonnas new song but forgot the name of it, the one where shes on skates, I listen to that on the music shows every Saturday Morning and the car when I have the radio on.
4)Hero- Chad Kroeger (love to sing to that one even if I can't do it very well).
5)Ave Maria by Nana Mascouri (love that womans voice!!!)
6) Our Father by Mahalia Jackson (an Old one I know but I love that womans voice to).
7) Enya (of course the very best music to design fairy layouts with!)
adding an 8th coz I really love Stevie Nicks so much!!! love her Edge of seventeen song and sing it in the shower ALOT!
Well i'm not sure whether I can find more bloggers but I will do my best to and then I'll edit them in here, or maybe leave me a comment and I'll come tag you I wonder if that's allowed oh well, I think these are in the spirit of light fun anyway.
Here is a small sample of the papers I have been designing all weekend. After making the Good Men's kit I just had to immerse myself into a very girlie designing thing and make a few rose and butterfly, fairy , fae papers. I'm really itching now to get these ones printed up to see how they will look. Having my papers printed to the 12inch size is phenominal, I just love how detailed and vibrant the colours are to see and touch and feel the paper. This is just something small to say thank-you to Jesus for blessing my journey in designing and digital scrapbook kit making. Before I began this Designing, I asked Jesus to bless this path if he was in agreement with it, and at every turn my prayers have been answered and my path blessed numerous times I've lost count. Praise you Jesus!
Special thanks to jaguarwoman.com for satin ribbon and to bashfulheart.com for the 3D poser rendering Jesus.
This is a png file made especially for 12inch canvas', hope you enjoy and can use it.
thank-you for coming here
I'm introducing some marvellous creative layouts made by Deborah Mommens from www.dapperdoxie.com, in these layouts she has created heritage pages of her treasured ancestors for her family to treasure for many years to come. This one is her beautiful colourful bouquet from her wedding framed with lace which she has underlayed with red to emphasize the photo perfectly. Hanging in the corner are two dimonte frames she has creativily turned into the most elegant charms. Choosing to off centre the spotted intertwined red ribbon on the 8x11.5 inch page has made the layout interesting and well balanced for the eye to follow and focus on the centre photo. To top it all off with her talents clearly shown here she has also made a delightful font with red rose accents in just the right places.
Deb shares some of her family's treasured heritage photos with us all, I love how beautiful these two pages are to view! I know I would buy a magazine layout book with these on the cover, they definetly make you stop and look, zoom in closer, study the style and technique more and most importantly make you want to scraplift them These two pages have the wow factor and I'd be proud of them being in my family album. Thank-you Deb for showing us what this kit is capable of!
Presenting Silvia Romeo's Interesting and creative layouts with the Helen's Roses and Lace Kit

I'm extremely happy to say that I have enjoyed viewing these stunning layouts and it has given me inspiration to scrap my romantic and heritage photos more how about you?
If you would like to gain even more inspiration, I encourage you to visit with Deb on her site and blog, you'll even find a few lovely free gifts of digital scrapbooking kits, they are awesome!
Well take care and happy scrapping.
Oh I guess I owe you a short explanation of why I haven't been posting for a little while now, I've been busy updating my shopping cart script as is required by the manufacturers and it's taking longer than I thought it would to intergrate their new system into my tables, oh the joys of running a website I've still been busy designing for a break from the tedious coding though and plan to put out a kit sometime hopefully soon. Maybe tommorrow I'll try and post a sneak preview of it here...
Heres a little graphic image showing my catalogue I just had printed up, it can be requested via email for scrapbooking supply stores. At this point of time I'm not able to do individual print orders as the costs of covering the printing, packaging and posting just don't make it viable. I love seeing all these designs in print though and I'm sure you would enjoy scrapping with them as well.
I just had to share how happy I am, my designs I sent away came back this morning in paper on thick Acid free archival paper!! I can't stop looking at them and touching them. It's so nice seeing my designs printed up and on paper! They turned out better than I had hoped for. So now I'm trying to decide which ones to difinitively have printed in 25 copy lot's. Gosh I really need a scrapbooking stores help on this one. Because money is limited and I don't want to order what won't sell in the shops. I guess thats just the risk all small business' have to take in order to start off. Oh my they look really good in hard copy. These were provided by Designs Galore in Western Australia thank's John.
Thanks for all comments girls
You can view this in the gallery better Link
Heres my latest layout, I had a lot of fun making this one and pasting on the wings onto me. Journalling reads- A Time for me when Fairies were real!
Enya font and Porcelain font on the Jewelled Alphas. I used gold butterflies from the elements section in the store and a few other ribbons , lace and brads not in store yet.I can't wait to try this in paper, I'm sending my digitals away for printing, so yippee!! It makes all the difference seeing something tangible that you can touch, I love it. I've been telling myself and my friends now that I MUST do something boyish for the store but I keep coming back to play with my faeries which I love to do. Oh well maybe next week, fingers crossed. I have to actaully go through all my folders and start finishing all my half finished kits I have, that never seem to get completed.
Oh if your looking for the free kits in the gallery, I've moved them over to the store for now.
April Daze has been busy printing up all the high quality digital scrapbooking art graphics available in the store and making gift cards and notecards from them. Here she has included a set of instructions for us to make them using our favourite digi scrapping kits.
Here April uses the Helens Roses and Lace kit by blushbutter to demonstrate a note card she has made, I'm loving seeing my artwork printed up so much! I have been way too busy lately to get around to printing up my own pages which I love to do, but running a website and family can be very time consuming so when April showed me these beautiful cards she had crafted, I got all emotional and overwhelmed by the loveliness of them and how she just makes my work POP right off the page! I'm itching to try my hand at a little papertole using my fairies as I've not had the chance to do anything like that in along time now and love the effect of the 3D paper sculpting cards. so stay tuned hopefully you'll be seeing a little more paper scrapbooking here on blushbutter as well! Oh yes I love paper scrapping just as much!! Love looking at the papers in shops and touching them all, love the textures and the prettiness of them. My dream is to have a printed line of my own papers available in physical form one day, I spend hours looking at all my favourite magazines admiring all the beautiful craftmanship and time taken in making those awesome pages, they are all really art peices, so priceless!

I've been busy again with my lovely New kit and made an easypage from my layout, this freebie is available in the shoppe for free download short time only. I made this from the Helens Roses and Lace kit,I think this page and kit are perfect for your heritage digital scrapbooking layouts. Thank-you atomic cupcake for the actions provided in this layout!
Don't forget you can print these pages up and then cut out the white space for paper scrapbooking, makes traditional scrapbooking a breeze!
Hey if you appreciate this page please review it or leave a comment here, I love it when I hear from you
This has got to be the easiest and most fun to use kit for me, I just love all the roses and ribbons, lace, faeries, tags and elements, oh the choices are so much fun!
Now a little about this layout, here I have used a background paper from the kit with a poem from my Mum(Helen whom kit named after)and in this journalling I mention her sewing on a Singer sewing treddle machine. You see I grew up at one stage on a block of land out in the bush(100 acres)Australia, Victoria. Very pretty block of land and we had no power for a fair few years there. Yes you heard me correctly no power! That meant no TV, no electric lights all gas lamps and slow combustion stove. Every morning we had to light it for warm water to wash with and to heat milk for our weetbix. I remember my Mum singing away with made up hymns while making us these pretty lacey dresses on this old sewing machine treddling away with her foot peddle making lot's of dresses for us four girls and all of our dolls as well! I learnt to sew using it too and loved making skirts, it had the same relaxed rythmic feeling I suppose as spinning wool or turning pots on a wheel. This place was where my love of faeries was born! We had a fern covered creek babbling through the property and little blue tailed wrens flittering in and out of the grassy buttercup banks, if you sat really still you would be guaranteed a visit from a wombat walking by. I can honestly say I had the most magical upbringing ever( I won't mention the hard chores though)we made little fairy houses out of moss and paperbark, little twigs and paths were all made in an extravagant fairy village. You see we had to make it the best place any fairy would love to call home. My younger twin sisters would wait with anticipation for fairies to show, sometimes I think they realy saw them all around they would giggle so.
Thanks for looking

Layout made that inspired this kit
ButterflyDesigns, April Day and I have demonstrated the versatility of adding poser cliparts and digitally drawn characters to scrapbooking layouts. If your interested in adding just a little more artistic design to your scrapbooking memories, I would definetly reccommend adding cliparts to your treasured pages! I think these layouts here show the creativity you can acheive by combining your interests together. I guess it's very obvious that I like fairies-fae-faeries and angels, so I'm always looking to incorporate them into layouts as artistically as I can without taking away from the photo. I find this can be a little tricky as the cliparts I postwork in photoshop can be really pretty, so to distract from that I will always try to offset them and frame the photo. All these layouts can be viewed up closer in the gallery.
April has demonstrated the ability of making jewelled backgrounds using the Jewelled pattern tiles from the shoppe and dressed Mahaley in an adornment of blushbutters flower elements and fairy princess crown from the Fairy things and Butterfly Wings kit. I hope you are enjoying the inspired creativity of these pages just as much as I am, thank-you for reading and stopping by today
Here are some amazingly beautiful layouts made by our talented ladies - Belinda from Victoria, Australia the first four are credited to her, here she has demonstrated an acute sense of balance and creativity in placing her elements and framing her photos for maximum visual effect and journalling. April Day has been inspired again, hers are Precious and Lavender Love featuring Mahaley her pretty daughter, here she has used a freebie Shaye kit available in the gallery and has also used the Ribboned Rosettes and Bows from the shoppe to accent her pages with just a little added finess and interest. ButterflyDesign has intricately fashioned four layouts using Baby girl kit and a few jewelled kits I have yet to put in store, her pages she has kindly made available as easypages(ploppers) for sale in shoppe seperately.
April has been hard at work again and look at what she sent me all the way from America!! I've looked at this album atleast 50times now and I only got it yesterday, I love it so much. The album is made up of paperbags and studded together with an assortment of gorgeous ribbons and tags to journal and display my favourite pics of "my guys" on. April Day says she was inspired by a photo collage I had shown here earlier of all my little men, to make this awesome scrapbook just for me, did I mention that I love it yet?!! I'm still hunting down all the best photos to put into it of my boys but wanted to share this beautiful gift with you all here, and show off just how talented she really is. I feel totally spoilt rotten now.
Each page has a flip out of a little section where you can add more jounalling and photos, and because of the paper bag that's being used theres even little secret pockets for things like tickets and special little things I could never bring myself to throw out. (excuse my messy desk)
Thank-you , thank-you , thank-you April Day love you, hug's, Vanessa
Here are some layouts made by our talented creative team ButterflyDesign, Tammy Gary and My self to display how versatile the Aviation kit for $20.00 is. Tammy shows in her layouts that the kit has a wide variety of masculine papers to create more robust like layouts for the men in your life. Butterfly Design has again turned a little boy into a pilot zooming through the sky on a traditional scrapbooking setting. As you can see the kit is full of many different choices of fun and intereactivity.

ButterflyDesign has spent countless hours placing blushbutter's unique graphics together in a beautiful arrangement suitable for all weddings.
April has made a digital photo memory page layout here using the beautiful lace available in the Baby Girl kit featuring Little Lady Mahaley. I'm sure you would agree with me here in saying that these layouts and albums by April show some pretty extraordinary talent. There are many more digital scrapbooking layouts in the gallery showing the versatility of combining kits by blushbutter.
April Day has demonstrated the versatility of blushbutter's digital scrapbooking kit's by printing the digital images up onto cardstock and then rearranging them into a beautiful accordian album, in this photo project she has used the Mauve Refined ladies kit featuring a little princess - Mahaley in all her beautiful different dresses.
This accordian album was made by my Creative Designer April Daze, featuring none other than our delightful princess fairy Mahaley! Here she has printed up various elements found in the Baby Girl kit and added glitter and stitching to tie it all together. I'm sure you would have to agree with me here in saying this is the most loveliest paper layout album ever! I want her to enter it into a magazine it's so pretty, but she's just way to modest to. Oh well maybe one day I will be able to convince her to submit some of her fine work. April also makes paper bag books and I believe she does them to order as well. I treasure my one of a kind April Daze original altered art book. I use it for all my scrapbooking notes, thank-you April for taking the time to make this and letting us all share in the beauty of your artistic talent, hug's Vanessa-blushbutter
If your looking for ruffled lace, spotted ribbons, little aged books, vintage toys for your altered art creations look no further than my friend Lara Paytons collection of kits you will find a wide variety of the most uniquely equisitely crafted graphics. I know that Lara goes to great lengths for her creations to be a little different than the generic kits pushed out daily on other sites. For her like myself time needs to be spent on perfecting her graphics to be the best she can possibly make them. She is also very modest and possibly never quite happy with her art, like all great artists her own worst critic. She is currently busy perfecting some more special elements and bits and peices for her next kit and I'll just say that you are going to not be able to resist the purchase of it! Lara is a generous woman too, and if you pop into her blog from time to time you will find a freebie to snatch, but please leave a note to say thank's as it always helps with the inspiration to be more giving in the future.
These layouts were made using blushbutter's Baby girl digital scrapbooking kit. Most of these layouts were made by our talented Designer Butterfly Designs. You can view them in more detail in the gallery. Butterfly Designs will make you a custom album or put your photos into an easypage of your choice for a minumal service fee. Service Link

ButterflyDesign- these designers and there talents have really captured the passion in their layouts from which this kit was made.

So if you'd be so kind as to leave a kind comment as to which you like best, I'd really appreciate that! Have a lovely Day!

I've just finished making this wide variety of bows for the store after I was looking for just the right bow for a layout I was working on, and couldn't find one with out clipping the bow from a scanned image and then colourising it to be more like what I needed. So an idea was born, I was thinking how much simpler it would be to have a wide selection of bows all in one folder with many different colours so I could be inspired to choose backgrounds to mix and match. I'm uploading these files now and they will be in store tommorrow , so you can have the convenience of using all these premade and colourised bows for yourself.
love to hear your comments, thank's for looking
This is a layout I made using my embroidered doll center, the layout uses laces and beautiful elements yet to be released in the store. Alot of these elements are still to be released but I'm working on it, just like to stop and make some pages for myself as well. Little poser girls by Basfulheart.com, Buttons from Baby Girl kit recoloured and stitching too. Jewelled letters from My jewelled Alphas, and fonts Porcelain,Scriptina and Tuetonic. I scrap lifted Kori's signature tag(sig tag) email personality signature.
Added my own style of course and I'm going to be making more and try and learn how to use fading in and out textures on white backgrounds and foregrounds.
Thank-you for coming by and looking
You'll just love visiting this site of fairy wonder and enchantmentJust gorgeous drawings in a modern style similar to Art Noveau. She offers a free section where you can download all the wallpapers and colouring in sheets for the little girls amongst us who love to draw fairies. If you follow all her links to other sites she has a doll maker on her Diviantart site and lot's of galleries to take you to a time of fairy wonder and make believe. Oh almost forgot to add the artwork is made by a local Girl to me from Melbourne Australia - ***Selina Fenech***

This site has some really great screen captures and very well detailed instructions on painting hair in photoshop for anime, great for your anime loving teens!
Tutorial written by := Centi nolavon
Jacinta Raphael http://nolavon.deviantart.com/worth taking a look at her art for inspiration, oh and she has some neat colour pages to practise the hair shadowing on for your anime newly aquired skills.
I've been designing beautiful lovely paper scrapbooking printables and Gift/greeting cards for the store. Each card has a different enchanting fairy and can be printed for personal use as many times as you like. The Graphics are in the highest resolution for paper printing therefore you are actually saving money than buying a card from a store in printed format for $9.95 and can only use once, this way the graphics are so good you can do more with each card than just use as a card. Each card is an art piece by me and I have been secluded away working diligently to bring all you fairy lovers a very unique keepsake to cherish or giveaway in a printed card.

It's amazing to see that all us digital scrapbookers have hit the news, heres another article, well written by Damon Darlin. Explaining how for years business' in Electronics and technology have tried to get our attention and failed, now women have finally entered the electronic marketing business and we are buying up big anything to do with digital scrapbooking and preserving our memories in the way we want to. He goes on to explain how much we are spending to digital scrapbook. It's a good read anyway so I'm sharing it here...
Article By DAMON DARLIN
Published: June 7, 2006, Wednesday
DEVOTEES of the hobby known as scrapbooking spent an estimated $3 billion last year on patterned paper, ribbons, stamps, brads and fabrics. They also spent untold hours combining these things with family photographs to make personal albums.
Claudine Jackson was one such person. But Ms. Jackson, an optometrist and mother of two in Carlisle, Pa., said she found that the hobby was taking too much time. ''When I get a half-hour, I have to move quickly,'' she said, adding, ''It would take that long just to get my materials out.''
Three years ago, Ms. Jackson started creating layouts of her books on her computer. Now she produces almost all her scrapbooks digitally, printing the pages as photographs that are 8 inches by 8 inches or 12 inches by 12 inches. She also burns the scrapbooks on CD's, for safekeeping or to share. ''It was quicker for me,'' she said. ''I could start and stop at a moment's notice.''
Eric Benderoff wrote this article describing the term scrapbook versus photo projects etc...

For men, hearing the word "scrapbook" is akin to dangling garlic in front of a vampire.
If you tell men, and many women, that what they are doing with their digital photos could be called "scrapbooking," you can actually see them recoil in horror.
Trust me: I've been doing experiments. And what do men think about the word?
"I think of people going to a store to buy an ink stamp with little feet, so they can stamp little feet around the pages," said my brother-in-law, David. "And I think about doilies."
Funny thing is, David creates extremely entertaining family projects, combining photos--new and old--video clips, music and clever transitions. "I pay extra for those," he said.
I have finally finished creating my Jewelled Alphas and they are now available in the shoppe for purchase, if you'd like to add them to your page layouts. Each letter took me ages to do, placing the little jewels in just the right spot and colour coordinating all the little jewels to match that letter. I have included in the kit a set of letters without shine and with shine to offer more choice. The lowercase letters come without jewels and are matching gold to the Jewelled Uppercase Alphas. I also have placed jewels in patterns to make some lovely flowers for a different styled digital art page than the usual method of digital scrapbooking. Love how with digital the only boundaries are your own imagination. All the graphics are 300ppi resolution ideal for printing quality.
I recently purchased some really cute Fairy Cards from my newsagency and on the back was the designers web address for Kathleen Francour - www.kfrancour.com , well curiosity got the better of me and I looked her up, OH MY GOODNESS! You have just got to visit her site, it is the prettiest site with the little birdies whistling music the fairy baby flapping her pink little wings, soooo cute! I spent the better part of two hours going through all her galleries just admiring all the little details she had lovingly put into each card -Wow! What a woman, and the cards do have a tendency to transport you back in time to a childhood of innocense and wonder. Love all her little fairies(Flitterbyes),her Angel Wishes and her new little Twinklets(mermaids) , oh and not to forget the Cottage collection! So many little pretty cards. You will be enchanted if you do take the time to visit Kathleens amazing site with inspiration and enthusiasm to create something. I know I was and I have added a link here on my site just in case I loose her from my favorites bookmark. Kathleen writes that she uses a black and white painting photo technique in her creations. I haven't as yet tried this method fully, I went about my antiquing styled photo differently. But I can tell you I will definetely be giving her method of painting colour over black and white photos in photoshop, now I just have to find some great photos that I can use to do it with.
This is a sneak preview to a set of Jewelled alphas I'm working on at present, I just had to stop and make a layout using the Alphas to see how nice they would look in scrapbooking pages. For this layout I turned a photo of me from when I was in prep into a heritage painted look photo. The process took several layers and filter modes and blending options to get the look I was happy with. There most likely is a really good tutorial on line on how to do this exact same look but I had some fun exploring and using my own trial and error process. I haven't completely finished this page but I got so impatient that I hadn't placed a post here for two or so days I thought this will do to let you all know I'm still here busy creating some pretty nice things for the shoppe. The fairies featured in the page have been modified and customised with postwork in photoshop by blushbutter(me), the base poser models are from www.scorpology.com and the font I used for the alphas is Porcelain. The original photo is pictured below with out all the enhancing and photo touching up. I think the modern fairies and the old fashioned paper and photo have combined really well and I feel this page is a successful layout of the two completely different combinations.

Hi just my two cents here for those of you with no experience at all and want to put a free site up professionally and fast, retaining all control then I suggest taking a look at www.doteasy.com they have free 100mb with no banner adds like bravehost do. Also if you want to have scripts running on the site they have tech's install them for you. Personally I suggest getting a domain and site through them and having blogger installed as the main script, with some tweaking it can look proffessional and stay interesting with the site changing constantly. I'm not sure if ranking on the major search engines is important to you or not, but if you don't use a blog for your main page it's virtually a waste of money trying to pay to get onto the search engines. I guess it all depends if you want returning hits too, as looking at a nice stagnant page the first time is lovely but everytime you revisit and it still is the same then forget it!. Run a search on scrapbooking on a major search engine and see how many sites come up, last time I checked there were 20,500,000 and I ranked finally on page 13 woohoo! I can tell you not with out some effort on my behalf. Now if you were to do a image scrapbooking search then I'm on page 3 thereabouts depends on the content on my site for that search day. Here I am giving all my secrets away, but take my experience from me, don't learn the hard way on building a website business up!
Now why do I say blogger instead of b2evolution? Because unless you have php scripting knowledge and a database then forget B2evo, blogger keep and run updates and security patches(necessary defence against hackers) on their script constantly and you have no concerns about doing that for yourself. Easy admin controls and photo upload areas. If you want more you can link static html pages to your blog roll website showcasing a gallery and store. Well I'm hoping this news article saves some time and alot of frustration for some of you. Please Comment away, more advice and knowledge freely contributed would be lovely for visitors reading this.
This is one of the Easypages I made for the Baby Girl kit I'm currently working on, this layout features Hannah, darling daughter of Amy. Isn't she just precious?! I've made a fancy grunge brush for the kit as well so far it works in Photoshop and Elements, I'm also working on making it available for psp too, need to look up a couple of brush tutorials for that so that you can all use it. If you don't have any of those programs I'll be including the transparent png files to be used for photo enhancing as overlays.
Oh thank's for looking
Ooooh I just found this terrific site and it has the prettiest font, then I clicked on the bundle out of curiosity and imagine my delight to see it had all I wanted! I put the bundle straight into my shopping cart for next paycheck! They reward you with 30 free fonts for a purchase over $25.00 isn't that just the best?!
Well I"ll let you check it out and tell me what you think, oh you can test it as well!

I've been developing more of my own lace in photoshop digitally, I'm quite happy with the result and have added square and straight lace pieces to my new baby girl scrapbooking kit I'm creating right now. This kit is all in baby pinks and baby yellows, with balloons, bows, ragdolls and teddybears etc... I made these little ragdolls in photoshop too. I'm currently in the process of trying to limit the papers down to an affordable 12paper set. I have 50 beautiful papers that are all so individually beautiful and soo pretty, gosh I'm having a really hard time deciding which ones to scratch! I think I may just put up seperate paper kits for you all to decide which ones you want to choose from. I need to get going now and make some more tags and ribbons to go with this kit. Have a scrappy day
I like this photography Layout I made, it has a plain and simple style but seems to work for an easy balancing effect. Maybe I like so much because it has all my special guys in it! Aren't they all so cute. It's very hard to tear myself away from them to do some work on the computer sometimes! Hence the late nights when they are all tucked up into bed.
I came across this article and thought it really needed to be shared amongst the digital scrapping communties and websites, especially if your designing your own website and considering selling your items online. I have personally found getting into the search engines rankings one of the hardest things to do! But for an online business it's a must!
By Bill Treloar - Entrepreneur.com writes: People searching for your products or services on the Internet can be an important source of new customers for you. Because someone searching for what you sell is already "sold"?they're looking to buy. Where else can you find that kind of qualified sales lead?
Made this using my Fairy Things and Butterfly wings Kit with little extras from my Maypole kit,and Mauve Refined Ribbons. Enjoy let us know how you like it thank-you
These are a set of FREE graphic digital images made especially for grieving parents.
This kit was made as a result of an angel called Mia, so the kit is named In Rememberance of Mia. This kit comes with png overlays a different selection of wings on png files and jpeg cloud backgrounds, bows and hearts, one is in blue and one pink.
12x12inches 300dpi please pass this kit or link on to grieving family members.
This is the most worthwhile and hardest kit I have ever made and I offer it for free because I feel the grieving process is overwhelming enough.
I lost this post so am posting it again.
this is now available for download in the store
I've made some flash Intros for Webpages using my newly created fairies, I just had to stop and see them dance and fly, click on preview to go to gallery to see them, page can take a while to load but it's worth it! If the fairies come up small refresh the page and next time they will be bigger! Sooo preeety!
Oh because of the enormous spam attacks I've had to turn the gallery onto moderation, if you've uploaded a image using blushbutter's kit's then it will be approved! You will also be placed on the Valued Members list! So further uploads of files won't have to be approved. I know it's the few that wreck the open friendly atmosphere for everyone!
I've also installed a new yahoo group mail list that will be updated constantly to keep you all involved in what is happening around and to get to know you all a little better! I have the list set up in my outlook so I get instant alerts of mail! woohoo so I can now be a better designer!
love any comments you have, thank's in advance for taking time to let me know what you think and if you find this site fun or not? Suggestions always appreciated!

All comments welcomed thank-you for reading my blog Have a happy day
I'm writing this on my blog as I have had an several emails asking me how I came up with my name - blushbutter! So I'll try and explain how~
I came up with the name from my name Vanessa- butter is short for butterfly, Vanessa means butterfly, and blush from the body shop concept. I'm not sure whether you have a body shop here basically it's a shop that sells cremes and soaps and they have ones with yummy names, well I guess that just stuck with me from years ago when I first purchased a butter creme or an orange sorbet bath bomb. I really liked the way there names sounded yummy and fresh. So I put the short list of names to my little family and they all voted on blushbutter! I was going to go the designer name but read in a digital graphics photography magazine that doing that was showing unproffessionalism and an unoriginal concept. They said the word design and designer had been done to death and clients quite regularily overlooked the name completely when choosing a designer. Polls they said showed that clients preferred artists to have catchy rememberable names. Well I guess that's my little story blushbutter thank's everyone for asking btw
When Your feeling blank and want to be creative with your scrapping it can be hard to come up with original work, but with Butterfly Design she takes herself out to the garden to get some inner peace from the flowers and newgrowth, she tell's us she is closer to her inner child in her garden and remembers encouraging her little girls all four of them to imagine there were fairies dancing everywhere just out of view, and if they were quick enough they would catch them out!
This is one of Butterfly Designs Page Layouts
It takes a lot of time to do the creative work on each of the pages we lovingly put together for each subject. That applies for the family occassions we normally have everyday of our lives you can save a lot of time and money that you would normally spend to put all the elements you would have to buy, to get the same results, then organize each of the subjects, to suit the childs positions. We take out all the contemplation and procrastination out and make your family look like stars we like to give a family album a unique feeling.
This is a letter I received on a yahoo group listing with Layouts@yahoogroups.com I thought the letter should be shared as it has similarities to alot of emails I receive personally asking the same questions, so I hope this can also help alot of you who want to know these questions as well, as Sarah. Thank-you for asking Sarah, Great question by the way!
To all you digital scrappers....
How do you do this? Do you just print the layout and add the photos.
Or is the entire page digital, photos, embelishments, etc? Do you have
special software for this?
Thanks for all the info!!!
Hi Sarah, if you pop over to my site http://www.blushbutter.com/ I show how it's done, I have a service where the photos are inserted into easypages you pick out or you can buy an entire kit and scrap and arrange elements and papers on the page yourself. Yes you need a program, I recommend Adobe Elements 4 as the best to go for, alot of support for it and it's worth the money in the long run, Amazon are selling it for only $55.00 right now(bargain)! Google has Picassa for free right now which is also a graphic program but with certain limits. I like to print up the png.files(transparent layers)easy pages which print up with white photo places and cut the pockets out with a cutting utensil and then place my photos I've already got from years before into them, Well behind the layer and then stick it all together, maybe add a few extra traditional scrap elements like ribbons and fibres to jazz up the page just a little more. I like doing my paper scrapping this way as it's really quick and cut's out alot of frustration when you just can't get motivated to be super creative with papers, or in my caes babies trying to get into all my things to wreck them. There are so many ready made pages and I don't have to drag babies along to club's and to shops where they just don't keep their hands to themselves! lol the joys of mummydom! I like my printer and print up my own papers, and sometimes just the digital pages you see in my gallery and plop them into my album, all my family and friends love my layouts, being digital, they show up bright and beautiful on dvd's which I set to music and send out once a year as Christmas pressies. That's the best way I've found to showcase my year of hard creative work on layouts and to get a positive result. The first dvd I did , I thought didn't get much of a reaction, so the following year I missed it, oh you should have heard the complaints and phone calls asking if theres had been lost in the mail where was it, so by that I new they looked forward to watching and seeing my entertaining work
Oh I forgot to say that Elements has layers and a layers pallette, you open all the bits/files you want to use and drag them onto the page your working on, Adobe elements distributes the bit's onto seperate layers and when you select that layer in the palette you can move it around , resize it and add words and text journalling to it. I have a few kit's on my site for free(in gallery), so you can pick some of those up to experiment with and adobe elements is free for a trial period I think of 30days. I also have a free mini e-card sender on my site in flash and it does the same thing as the digi scrapbooking just on a smaller scale, it layers and builds up a page, but no drop shadows, you can add small photos to it and add ribbons over it as well. I'll include a page I made recently from all digitally made items. take care, Vanessa - blushbutter
A free software download from Google.
Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organised by date with folder names you will recognise. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organised.
Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, and even post pictures on your own blog
thank you everyone for all the nice comments.. you are very kind..
a tag is a signature tag.. i make these for email stationary for the Incredimail email programme and i make a smaller version (the ones i have posted) as a signature.. i use them to sign underneath my mail..
A tube is a psp or photoshop file (depending on what programme you use) where an image has the background removed from it..it can be done cleanly..so it looks like a png file.. or it can be misted like the one of John Lennon im about to post...as for the backgrounds that are faded i do that with brushes in psp..hope that answers all the questions :-)
Just awesome Heather!AKA-wildchild

I'd like to introduce you to my wonderful Mother(Mumsy my name for her)she designed these beautiful elegant feminine Easy pages you see here, and a great many other easypages and layouts you have seen in the store and has been working at orginising my kits better for me. I must say since starting this adventure I've become overwhelmed with the terrific response I've had to my digital designs, so much so that I've had to ask my Mumsy to help me. Mums name is Helen Norton and she designs under the name Butterfly Design. So warmly Welcome my Mum as she's terribly shy and new to all this web business
Heres a little preview Of one of the Easy pages 8x8inches I'm making for one of the little gifts left hiding in our store, Yes it's for Mothers day, but in this layout I'm featuring my darling Hubby and baby Rohan, his t-shirt was the perfect colouring for this page.

thought I'd share this article by Suzanne Perez Tobias for you all if you hadn't seen it before anywhere else, definetly a valued news item to share!
More ways to make a scrapbook about you
BY SUZANNE PEREZ TOBIAS
The Wichita Eagle
In the last issue of WichiTalk, we explained how modern scrapbookers are adding an introspective twist to their hobby, telling personal stories and creating books about their hopes and dreams.
"The Me Book," a soon-to-be-released book by California-based scrapbook company Autumn Leaves, features pages by more than a dozen scrapbook artists, including Desiree McClellan of Wichita.
The book is likely to inspire scrapbookers to think beyond first-step and pumpkin-patch pages. But journaling about yourself can be intimidating.
If you're thinking about starting a personal scrapbook or journal, these writing prompts can help get you started:
• Create a page about the day you were born. Visit an online time capsule -- http://dmarie.com/timecap/ -- to find out about popular music, movies, news events and even gas prices from that date.
• List 100 things you love.
• What do you think are your five best qualities? Your five worst?
• What was your favorite toy as a child? What do you remember about it?
• If you watch television, what are your favorite shows? All-time favorite movies?
• List all the jobs you've had, and what you've learned from them. What is your "dream" job?
• Document your daily life. Include your daily schedule and any family members' schedules that you manage.
• Make a "betcha didn't know" list -- things about yourself that other people likely don't know.
• Do you have a special family recipe? Write it down, and pair it with a photo of the person who passed it down to you.
• Think about the values that steer your life. What are your 10 most important values -- things you'd want others to know about you when you're gone?
• Do you collect anything? If so, how did the collection start?
• How do you pamper yourself?
• What are your fears?
• Name some places where you feel peaceful and happy.
• List 25 (or 100) things you want to do before you die.

This is a terrific site for lovely illustrated fairytale characters for altered art projects. I came across this site after searching for a Lady illustrator of a childrens book I have in my library "Andersen's Fairy Tales" pictured below, the book is pretty old but I love her illustrations, so was curious to see who she was. It turns out she was a dynamic woman who was the main bread winner in the family drawing hundreds of pictures for books to support her family
Anderson was a Scottish artist born in 1874, then spent her childhood days in Argentina.
In 1912, she married a painter, Alan Wright and they settled in Berkshire. Wright had a successful career in illustration prior to 1898 when he illustrated a story for Baron Corvo. The story and Corvo were highly criticized in the press, and because of his association with the story, Wright’s commissions dried up until he married Anderson. They collaborated on many books together—he would draw the animals and birds and she would draw everything else. It has been said that it is difficult to distinguish his work from hers. But mostly, he dedicated himself to providing her with an environment conducive to her work.
In addition to her illustration, she was also an etcher, watercolor painter and designer of greeting cards.
A prolific illustrator, Anne Anderson’s delicate work exhibits a fluidity typical of the Art Nouveau movement. Over One hundred books to her credit has insured that most children in that era have enjoyed her work.
Although her illustrations were popular, her success can be attributed to her need to work hard and earn a decent income. With over 100 books to her credit, she was the financial supporter of the family, her husband only contributing occasionally.
Below are some of the most amazing layouts that were made after the crop chat last Saturday 13th May. I've been try some new techniques on some tutorial sites for PSP, because I realised I was forgetting some of the interface shortcuts and techniques, so it was definetly time to have a look around at some lastest tutorials and see if I could update some skills while having a little fun. I think I really managed to to that with a brilliant tutorial I found whilst web surfing on how to change your photos to sketches or drawings using PSP.
Unfortunately on here you don't get to see the texture of the paper and the detail as to why it really looks like a drawing.
But it's worth having a go at just for the fun!

The Entries into the Easter Crop for the night for USA/ day for Aus was so much fun, I counted 16 guests that had shown up to say "hi" at one stage, I know if I give more crops, and that's definetely a must is I'm going to have to learn how to touch type, I find it hard to keep up, read and type at the same time, I definetly need to look at my keys twice to make sure I'm not typing garble. These pictures are the layouts that were posted in my gallery using my Easter crop kit, Aren't they just the best? Beautifully done ladies! So at least once per month I'm going to try giving a crop, so watch out for my news posts here about them.
Just added this book to the site, you can add your own poetry and quotes as well, all admissions will be considered whether suitable for use with layout digital scrapbooking and digital art creations. Have any suggestions for more chapters? just email me for them to be added.
Just had to stop work on my new kit "Fairies In the Garden" and scrap a page using my "Blush" kit as I realized I hadn't done one yet, once inspired I just couldn't stop till it was done, it's funny how scrap pages seem to have a life of their own which takes me along for the ride. I just love it, when the elements and papers just seem to scrap and place themselves. sometimes I'm the designer in charge of the look and feel and push and place photos and papers on my digital palette, but most times I'm just along for the ride watching how the palette just comes together on it's own, I know that's when God is inspiring me. I wonder how many other scrappers feel this way?
Journalling reads, "Rohan, as I look at your tiny fingers and hands, I am imagining them growing to be as big as Daddy's hands are! Using "Blush" kit and " Fairies In the Graden" kit "Blush" kit in store

Unfortunately this kit won't be free to download as the time I've spent on creating it really needs to be justified(sorry). You can purchase the product this from shoppe where I will be offering one page as a free sample!

They are the home of the monthly Collect-A-Kit series so there's always something fun for everyone to try.
Well I just participated in my very first crop, I know that's really slack that I haven't got around to doing them before now. Wow what alot of fun, except for the fact that I had been eating chocolate and came down with a migraine right at the starting time of the crop making it impossible to see what was being said, I still participated later on, when I had rested my head, my hubby saved the conversation and all the freebie zips, so I was set to make my layout for the crop. I guess I better tell you where it was held
well heres my small layout from the crop, hopefully now I've participated in one and seen how they are done I'll be able to give a crop soon too with lot's of goodies.
What kit would you like to see used for the crop?
journalling reads: "Sunflowers grow in this place, but nothing as radiant as this smiling face"
I made this page using the "Fairy Things and Butterfly Wings", I just couldn't resist showing you the layout I made of my littlest boy Rohan, on this day the temperature was 43degrees and he was cooling off in the sink while Mummy washed the dishes. As you can see this kit has alot of versatility.
On a different note, I've been working on the shop and it will be all working soon, yeah, I think the break from all the php scripting helped, for those of us who aren't computer programmers the task of script reading and installing can be a very large headache, anyway thank-you for your patience while the shop has been under construction all this time, and I'm very sorry if I've caused a frustrating session here.
If you've been waiting for the Wedding kit-"Sealed with a Kiss" to be in store It's there now, just click on picture or button to go to shoppe

Have you got a computer, digital camera and loads of photo files taking up megabyte space? Maybe you could look into taking the time to arrange them into lovely digital pages, print and frame, or maybe place in an album, let's face it the last place friends and family want to be is standing in front of a computer pretending to be interested in all those loads of photos you have been taking with your super clear digital megapixel camera! And the dozen blurry or bad ones you really should have deleted but never quite got around to doing. One thing I've noticed from digital scrapbooking, or computer scrapping, is that you only use the best photos and arrange them into a design that tells a story of the moments that occurred while the photo was being taken, your memories captured into fun, thoughtful, loving digital layouts with journalling or inspirational quotes. Your friends and family will admire your work and albums all the more and pay even closer attention to your hobby, asking about your latest pages as soon as they enter your home, if you haven't already emailed them the page! But still a printed page always looks so much better and feels special when printed. It's the satisfaction I guess from having something solid you can touch.
There are links through out this blog and directions to helpful programs and tutorials that will get you started in digital scrapping your memories.
I recommend digital easy pages/fast pages or ploppers as they are sometimes known to get started. By placing your photos into a pre-made design, you can then become familiar with what you like and don't. There are plenty of free easy pages here in the gallery. Then after your confidence grows you can look at some galleries and see other peoples layouts for ideas and try your own designed layout from Kit's. Why a kit? Well most kit's are designed by Digital artists who have placed together colours and elements and things you may not have thought about into a kit that inspires you to create layouts. You can produce as many different layouts as you want from just one kit!
But once you purchase one kit you'll soon be looking around for others of exceptionable quality for your precious photos. You'll just love posting your layout's to galleries, and there are a ton of free scrapbook galleries out in online web land, with dedicated members and appreciative viewers complementing your work. I love having my layout's veiwed and receiving positive feedback by other talented digi scrappers! It's a whole new world to explore, but worth the effort. In my humble opinion anyway
I've also included links to the popular programs I use and the video tutorial links found at lynda.com on the digi forum, you can view these free tutorials and please comment on the forum as to your experience with using these tutorials for your program wants and needs. I believe by turning around to help the people behind us can we only move forward. Also I've started topics for great tutorials and links to them found on the web for using graphic programs, please leave a link to your favourite tutorials that may not have been mentioned yet.
I've been asked what my recomendations are for digital scrapbooking, and it's hard for me to recommend any one program as I am familiar with quite a few and use them all differently for different tasks, I'd love to just point you to a program and say get that one, but advising you to spend your money on a program that you find overwhelming and very frustrating is not what I want to do to you, so my suggestion for you is to first take a look at all the interfaces of the various different programs free tutorials found on the web or at Lynda.com. Then download the program you feel is friendliest to use,They all offer free trials(usually a period of 15-30days)to test that program fully . Set aside a weekend and try to make a layout, download a freebie and see how easy it is to use and combine all the elements and photos into an arrangement, Please do this with only one program at a time, you will need the full 15 days to experience the program fully and it's useability. No good downloading several, installing them and only having the chance to explore one or two before their free trials run out.
http://www.gimp.org/ GIMP is free so no need to worry about time with that, still looking for suport tutorials for digital scrapbooking with this program, haven't found many at all, so that's a good thing to keep in mind. Also remember I have actually done graphic design school courses with
Adobe photoshop and
Adobe Illustrator to become familiar with these programs, I needed to have a teacher showing me the capibilities of these programs, I found them very overwhelming at first and it has taken me along time to become familiar with using them. I'm still learning how to use all the many different features and techniques of these powerful programs, I take tutorials online all the time trying to keep upto date on the many new techniques. Adobe Elements an easier more compact version of photoshop have a very user friendly tutorial built in and going through that makes the program so easy to use.
Corel Jasc PSP (Paint Shop Pro) is a fun program that does it all, most of the little cute clipart you see around the web has usually been made with this program, from animation to background making layering photos, it does it all, saying that, a recent visit to their site showed me their PSP PRO X program comes with over 500 elements and clipart like buttons and flowers etc... especially great for digital scrapbooking. Now Xara, well it's not a very well known graphics program and I've only just become aware of it in the last year, but it's been around for years, it's a program full of capabilities that are just to good to believe, unfortunately there are no video tutorials I have found for this program, but it does have a great many written tutorials with screen captures and support sites to help you learn the program. Microsoft Image Pro(60 day free trial)I have to say I'm not familiar with at all, sorry about that. But saying that, the very many digital scrapbooking forums I have been to and posts I have read, it seems to be the number one choice for beginners and digital scrapaholics alike to use, I've seen some amazing layouts done using this program. Read more indepth critique. There are digital scrapbooking tutorials for this program to. I have to go for now, I'll contiue on with this topic another time, if you have a program you enjoy please leave comments of your preferences to help others who want to get into digital scrapbooking but not sure of what program choice to make.
This guy (yes I said man)Denis is remarkable he has alot of free tutorials , very simple and easy to follow instructions!

I've been testing Picaboo for Myself just to see how easy it really is, and I was amazed how simple and elegant the quick(and I mean really quick)Picaboo program was to load the photos and make beautiful pages, a terrific program guys! Love it! " Just a note to self, MUST GET the photos I intend using for the album sorted out first!"
Don't forget to stop by the gallery to download some baby graphics for your pages, hope they can help, all royalty free and copyright free!
CONCORD, New Hampshire (AP) -- Wendy Armstrong won't confess how much money she used to spend on scrapbooking supplies, but she does admit nearly kicking her daughter out of her nursery to make more room for the piles of paper and decorative doodads.
The baby kept her room, but "believe me, it was a very hard decision," jokes Armstrong, a stay-at-home mom who lives near Portland, Oregon.
"This was not so much a scrapbooking hobby as a collecting hobby."
Two years later, Armstrong is ready to get rid of her collection altogether.
But she hasn't given up on scrapbooking. Rather, she's joining a growing number of scrapbookers who have gone digital.
Armstrong, 43, now creates all of her scrapbook pages entirely on her computer. No more physical cutting and pasting, no more agonizing over a layout to the point of paralysis.
"I had two kids, a backlog of a gazillion photos, and I was just getting to the point where I'd literally have layouts that sat on my desk for months just not quite finished," she said.
Switching to digital scrapbooking brought a huge sense of relief.
"All of a sudden I didn't totally panic about finishing my layouts like I did with paper scrapping because I never really had to finish," said Armstrong, who has completed 240 pages in just more than a year. "It just created so much more freedom than paper scrapping."
Digital scrapbooking is a fast-growing offshoot of the $2.5 billion scrapbooking industry.
Like the Quick Album option, Standard Album will automatically take the pictures you select and build an album for you.
